MORE THAN A SPACE
We’re a COMMUNITY.
Building an open, strong, and welcoming community is core to the HIVE mission. Our 100+ Peer Instructor volunteers are not only passionate about teaching the art of making, but are highly motivated to help our visitors to work through their projects.
A key component to our strong community is diversity. While the IDC focuses on aspects of Electrical Engineering, the Hive is not limited to just Electrical Engineers. Our volunteers come from all majors at Georgia Tech including Industrial Design, Aerospace Engineering, and Management. Similarly, our community is made up of students from different classes. Some HIVE members are Freshmen working alongside Doctorate students, or even CEOs.
Outside of the Hive, we are still a group of students who love hanging out with one another. Whether we’re on Tech Green playing Spikeball, inside playing Smash Bros, or on a group hike, we always find ways to come together. We’re more than building and making ideas, we’re also building a community.
So come visit us, and Welcome Home!

MEET OUR TEAM.
While Peer Instructors keep the space open and running, the IDC has a leadership team dedicated to the logistics of running the space and planning for further growth.
