General Users
Just interested in using the Makerspace or getting help on a project? Come right in! There are no membership fees, and any Georgia Tech student can use the facility during open hours. We also host events such as workshops and socials, open for all students to attend. Check the homepage for hours.
Peer Instructors
The Spring 2021 Peer Instructor application is not yet available. The application will open later in the semester and details will be posted then.
Peer Instructors are student volunteers that staff the IDC Makerspace and provide guidance to General Users. PIs are typically responsible for one or two stations within the facility, and are expected to work one 3-hour shift a week, at a minimum. Benefits of becoming a PI include 24-hour access to the space and early access to new tools and machines!
PI Applications are generally open during the first few weeks of each school semester. Sign up for our Newsletter to get updates on PIs.
Master Peer Instructors
Master Peer Instructors are students who have been a PI for at least one semester and exemplify what it means to be a PI. They are very knowledgeable about the ins and outs of one or more machines and are able to provide more specialized guidance to those who need it.
Executive Board Members
Exec. Board applications are closed for this year. Check back at the beginning of next year for more info!
The Executive Board manages the space at a high level. They hire PIs, organize events, work on marketing, maintain the website, and etc. Applications for Executive Board generally open in January of each year.
